With the highest number of entrants received for this years’ awards, Martina, having launched ‘The Consumer Voice’ to support thousands of consumers across the country whilst juggling a family, was up against tough competition. It is due to her incredible perseverance and determination to succeed, she has won the award.
A single parent left in thousands of pounds worth of debt, after a divorce at the age of 26, Martina determined not to be beaten by her situation decided to push herself and utilise the skills gained during her degree; she set up her own blog and began to build a name for herself as a leading business copywriter and journalist.

I’m in awe of her efforts to set up a company completely outside of her own remit in order to fund her – and her family’s future. Her strong work ethic and impressive commitment to her true passion – journalism – makes her the winner of this category in my eyes.”
In addition to national recognition, by the winning the title of Working Mum of the Year in the Pitman Training Super Achievers Awards 2014, Martina will also receive an engraved award, £500 cash and a Self and Career development Pitman Training course of their choice.
