Hampshire Business Mum of the Month- January

Posted on

me head shotI am so lucky, I love my job, I am my own boss, I have a great lifestyle - in short, I have what many people only dream of!  The good news is you can have it too!!

I have 2 children Emma, 21 and Oliver, 18. I come from an administrative background and enjoyed being a stay at home mum when my children came along. I started working from home when Ollie started school as I felt the time was right to try something new and I really didn't want to return to the 9-5 life.

I have now been working with Usborne Books at Home for 12 years years and I am an award winning, Divisional Leader. I have built a fantastic full time business and I have lots of fun and have made some great friends along the way.

In 2010 I was awarded the Stephen Cartwright Excellence award for Leadership. It was a great honour to accept this award, for which I was nominated by own team members and chosen as the winner by Usborne Head Office.

In March 2010, my husband took early retirement so now my Usborne business is now our main income, something of which I am very proud! I get to give him 'pocket money'!

Having grown up children and a retired husband has also meant we have lots of free evenings and weekends.  Another great thing about my business is that I can run it from a field, in our motorhome!! So now I can be anywhere I like and still make a few calls and emails in between sight seeing and BBQs!!

I have also been all over the world courtesy of Usborne including: Caribbean, Mediterranean and Mexican Cruises and trips to South Africa, Hong Kong and Iceland. I have been wined and dined on the Orient Express and Claridges and I am now working towards winning an amazing meal at La Manoir aux quat' saisons!

Would you like to be part of our success story???

If you want to see the world or stay close to home; whether you wish to do 1 party a week or build a successful, full or part-time business; I have the skills and experience to help you all the way.

Feel free to contact me for an informal chat and I hope to be welcoming you to my team soon www.booksathome.org.uk or www.facebook.com/MakeLearningFun
