Hi, I’m Jayne Freemantle, I’m 39 years old, married to the most wonderful patient man and a mum to 3 amazing children ranging in age from 7 to 18.
My business is The Gift Basket, I set it up in 2006 after there were a run of babies in the family and being stuck as to what to buy at the time – it started with a very simple concept – a laundry basket and filling it with all the essentials you would need for the first days, weeks and months of enjoying baby. This expanded offering baskets for all occasions including Christmas Baskets, now we offer novelty gifts as well as Special 3D Pinned cards for all occasions and the list goes on….most of which are either handmade or hand-decorated.
Looking for something to further my business - I returned to college in 2010 to retrain as a Florist – leaving in July 2012 – I qualified with a distinction in Level 2 and Level 3 Advanced Floristry and I am now a freelance Florist working from home. This fitted perfectly with The Gift Basket and in late 2011, just before finishing college I launched The Flower Basket which offers everything floral that you could possibly need and not forgetting The Cake Basket too – offering traditional home made and decorated cakes for any occasion.
I am lucky to have found a craft that I love doing but to find 3 or more is fulfilling my need and my escape from the day-to-day stresses and strains!
I have always lived by the saying – ‘Once a crafter always a crafter’ – and the majority of my family are very artistic and creative and I love the time when my children create with me.
As like any mum, we are always busy –and there are always many other strings to our bows and one of mine is helping my husband with his business by doing his book keeping, networking, advertising and general day-to-day administration work at Gorilla (UK) Ltd.
Between us, my husband and I have also launched a networking and support group for builders in the construction industry which as you can appreciate is wide, varied and vast – which after having our own ups and downs in business we found there was very little support for builders that were in business whether sole traders, limited companies or partnerships and being able to help each other was essential – so recently The Builder’s Backbone Networking and Support Group was launched!
I love to be busy and really enjoy the fun and games I have with them and every day they amaze me with their talent – and would hope that between their dad and I, we have inspired them to follow their dreams and enjoy life!
