Excited is an understatement! When I was asked to road test fantastic pair of BEASTS flip flops. Not only are they designed by a lovely lady Melanie based in Dorset, the have a truly unique selling point and my Tesco specials broke in the park the day before! It’s a hard job but someone has to do it! (Thank goodness it’s me!)
The flip flops arrived in the most amazing natural cardboard box decorated in the BEASTS rhino logo and printed with various animal skins and a Q&A peep game about endangered animals. M&M have adopted the box now for role play! I was sent the beautiful Hawksbill Turtle pair (RRP. £14.99) which I was pretty chuffed about as after a recent trip to the Oceanarium am a big turtle fan!
The style is very much beachwear not fashion wear, they are comfy and have a lovely soft spring cushioned bottom, being as they are made from Natural Rubber. The strap is thick and equally comfortable no rubbing on the sides or between the toes! Eco-friendly pictured insoles, also available in African Elephant, Polar Bear and Giant Panda. Melanie Gwinnett, designer says “I wanted to design something that was going to appeal to everyone, whilst utilising the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good and help endangered animals.” A £1 from the sale of each pair of flip flops goes to three charitable organisations; Born Free Foundation, Marine Conservation Society and World Land Trust.
The Verdict :- 8/10
The flip flops are lovely to wear and packaged beautifully, it’s nice to know that a product you have bought is helping a worthwhile cause too. I was a bit sad that the imaged rubbed off in a few places so quickly although I did wear them out on a long walk with M&M probably not what they are designed for. I can’t wait for them to be available for children! I would recommend them to everyone … perfect for these lovely summer days down the beach with the littlies!
