Lisa Cattersgill- Finalist for New Business/Start up 2016

image110 months ago I stepped out my house with my first ever business card…Id just spent a year re-training in photography and i was fresh from my specialist newborn training with Melanie East, i didn’t feel like much of a business if I’m honest…
I was heading to a local networking meet up, terrified, I asked my husband to wait outside in the car. I was actually so nervous walking in the room my business cards were shaking in my hand.
Call it fate but id just stepped into a Networking Mummies meeting, Victoria Alcock’s first as branch leader! I was slightly overwhelmed by the variety of businesses, the friendliness and support! 2 hours later I emerged buzzing, my husband still in the car outside…oops!

Over the next 10 months I’ve continued to meet new businesses through Networking Mummies, each time I meet new friends, new collaborators and I feel so supported. Its fair to say my confidence has grown and I’m so proud of my newborn photography business!
Im now a Finalist for New Business/Start up of the year…its a wonderful feeling to be recognised for the work I’ve put in to building my business. I’m absolutely delighted to have reached national finalist, it means so much! My business journey so far has been overwhelming and nothing could have prepared me for how much I would have to learn and put into starting up this business. There are 5 wonderful businesses also up for this award, we have all achieved so much to get this far and I’m proud to be recognised alongside them! I’m so excited for the Award Ceremony at Aston Villa, the chance to raise a glass with all the other finalists to their hard work and commitment!
Oh and….I will be bringing my wonderfully supportive husband to the award ceremony! (…he won’t be in the car outside, this time he will be right next to me!)

  2. Good luck on the night Lisa, I will be at the award ceremony too, having been selected as finalist, 2nd year in a row for the Small Business of the Year category. Last year was our first year of attending the #NWMummiesawards, both myself and my supportive partner, (we won't mention the suit episode :D) We had great fun meeting everyone and listening to everyone's unique journeys.
