In order to grow and thrive, small businesses need to look abroad towards untapped opportunities in international markets. As China’s economy continues to develop and evolve, the country represents a unique opportunity for UK SMBs to benefit from international trade. Yet this can seem like a daunting venture for entrepreneurs as new markets bring with them a complex set of challenges that need to be addressed from the outset.
Fortunately, support is available through award programs that can offer the guidance, recognition and funding that can help SMBs to thrive in new markets across the globe. HP is inviting the UK’s small and medium sized business owners looking to break into the export market to enter the HP Go Global Awards; the awards echo Enterprise Nation’s Go Global principles – that small business owners should not shy away from international trade opportunities because of perceived language, currency, cultural and business barriers.
The HP Go Global Awards shine a light on some of the country’s most dynamic, innovative and expanding SMBs, recognising the achievements of those that have successfully entered the international export market and encouraging those looking to break into new territories.
The shortlisted six will gain a free place on Enterprise Nation’s 2015 china mission plus the two winners will receive a selection of HP’s top of the range business products, 12 months complimentary membership to techUK, training workshops from Business in the Community and mentoring sessions led by HSBC.
Free to enter, the awards will be judged by representatives from the Institute of Export, techUK, Enterprise Nation, Business in the Community and HSBC, amongst others. So, if you think your business has what it takes to move from local to global make sure you submit a short 500-word entry by 3pm on Friday 31st July 2015.
