Amanda from Eve's Networking did a money tips chat back in oh ... er ... July! It has taken me a while but here are some of her top tips! Enjoy!
Top tips -
Check your bank account regularly
Know what you spend and what you can afford to spend and don't spend more that you can afford!
Replace bad money habits with good habits
Set yourself money challenges - adjusting your spending doesn't mean missing out, you're liberating yourself from being controlled by your spending
Don't buy books, borrow from the local library instead
Cook from scratch and don't go food shopping when you're hungry
Buy meat when it's on special offer and freeze it
Menu plan to stop wasting food
Make sure your freezer is full, it uses less energy that way (but keep a list of what's in it!)
Don't drink bottled water, why pay over £1 for something you can get for free from the tap?
Teach yourself about personal finance - read the money section in the weekend papers, borrow books about money from the library, watch money programmes on the TV, listen or watch Martin Lewis, The Money Saving Expert
Make sure you know what your financial goals are and that you have a plan in place to achieve them
