Somerset Mum and businesswoman recognised by Theo Paphitis at recent awards ceremony
A Somerset based traditional toy business has received a business boost from TV Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.
Tracy Martin, the owner of the traditional toy business ‘The Bear and Miss Rabbit’ used Twitter to get in touch with business tycoon Theo Paphitis back in November 2014.
Tracy won recognition for her business after entering Small Business Sunday, an initiative where the former Dragons’ Den investor invites businesses to send him a tweet describing their business.
Every week, Mr Paphitis chooses six winners and retweets their 140-character business description to his 460,000 followers.
To celebrate the success of some of the best small businesses in the country, the weekly winners of Small Business Sunday were recently invited to an awards ceremony at the ICC in Birmingham, where Tracy had the opportunity to personally meet Theo Paphitis and receive her award.
Tracy said: “It was an amazing day; and a great opportunity to meet other UK small businesses. It was a real pleasure to meet Theo Paphitis and to hear his tips about how to grow and develop a small business”
Tracy set up the traditional toy business from her home in Street, Somerset in July 2012.
Since becoming a winner of Small Business Sunday, The Bear and Miss Rabbit has seen their online presence grow to more than 8,000 followers across Facebook and Twitter.
