About Us

Laura Morris Founded The Family Network (Formally known as Networking Mummies UK Ltd) with Joanne Dewberry in Bournemouth. They believed there was a gap in the Market which enabled mums in business to meet with like minded mums for support, confidence and help. Their first meeting was in a soft play area in Bournemouth with 8 people and they now have 25,000+ members across the UK. Two years later, Joanne left the business and Laura's friend Stacey Calder joined. Over the next 7 years they sold over 20 franchisees across the UK and won many National business awards and even started putting on their own business awards, recognising the achievements of mums and dads. Fast forward to now and Stacey has left to grow her own business and Laura has welcomed Victoria Alcock (who also is a franchisee) to be her new business partner with very exciting times ahead.

Victoria Alcock (left) worked as a Nursery practitioner for 15 years, but after the birth of her 3rd child found the hours just weren't flexible enough. " When you find you have to miss your childs first nativity play because you have to look after other people's children it hit me that I needed a change"

Victoria started up Boo Boo Balloons Ltd from her home, providing gift baskets and balloons for special occasions.

" I loved working for myself the moment I started. What I did miss, more than I expected was people! Working at home was wonderful, taking my kids to school and being there when they came home, but I never realised how isolating it was"

I discovered Networking Mummies (Stratford) and decided to go along to their coffee morning. I, along with others stood up and introduced themselves, I heard some very moving stories and some very successful ones! I loved being at the coffee mornings and networking with the others.

I went along to all the coffee mornings and attended as many workshops as I could. Networking Mummies gave me the one part in my self employed life I was missing.

The National Networking Mummies Awards in 2015 were being promoted and I was thrilled to find I had been nominated for " Networker of the Year" I went along, with 2 good friends and couldn't believe I won!

At my meeting with Laura and Stacey a few weeks later they offered me the Stratford Branch. I agreed to "Try it" and started off with just 4 people at my launch.

I worked hard and involved Stratford Businesses in many events, Wedding Fayres, School events and my little Group grew and grew!

When the opportunity arose to become co-director I jumped at the chance. As much as I loved my Balloon Business, I knew Business Networking was what I really wanted to do. I cant wait to encourage more members, support more people going into business.

Starting up my own business not only changed my childrens life, it changed mine and I am very happy it did!
